ML was showing off her bear, Captain Lust... not sure how that name came about and I don't want to know.
Pam worked and worked until she finally finished with this - I think its a dog. It was a bit better once I gave it my glasses to denote a face. Interesting the things adults consider amusing with enough wine involved.
We moved on to the annual Mardi Gras celebration at the Club. These two happy people were the host/hostess for the evening and they put on an exceptional show.
They outdid themselves with this year's decorations. Bruce and I joined the Club at about this time last year and I don't remember that party being anywhere near as big as this year.
There was some kind of crustacean in everything they served! That's a GOOD thing! There was gumbo and etouffee and boudin... it was all cooked by authentic Cajuns and it was all delicious.
I'm always up for a bit of fluff, so I wore my boa. I was outdone by Sylvia with her feathered mask. Just like it's an every day thing...
We ate then made our way upstairs to see what was going on. A group was gathered looking at the Cruise Pictures on the computer. We all had a blast reliving it all and relating the funny stories to those who hadn't gone.
Sunday morning we had Mark and Brenda over to sail on Elan. It was a very calm day with some sun. I was optimistic about how warm it would be and wore shorts over a swimsuit. We motored out and took our time getting the sails up. Nothing for them to do anyway...
A bit of wind came up... enough to take us out further into the bay so that we could put up the spinnaker and sail back in. Bruce loves to fly the spinnaker. It makes me nervous in high winds, but on a day like this, it's fun.
Mark came back to take the helm while I huddled in a blanket (in my shorts). Brenda joined Bruce on the foredeck to learn to bring down the chute and put the jib back up. She was an avid pupil and Bruce was in his (teaching) element.
We had a nice time on the water even if it was a bit chilly. I've resolved however, not to sail again until I can do it comfortably in shorts. I'm just done with this cold!
