Unique wooden motorsailer FOR SALE -  $45K (US)

Memsahib

If you know... you know

Workboat bones with classic yacht style. Bronze fastened, 11 tons of teak hull and deck, yacal frames, and ipol floors. She is a centerboard sloop of 36’ LOA, 11’ beam, 4’ draft board up and beefy Beta-Kubota 50 hp with approx. 2300 hours.

She was designed by Walter McInnis as a “one-off”, built in Hong Kong in 1961 and then shipped to Boston to the Eldredge-McInnis yard for final outfitting. Search “Walter McInnis” for a closer look at the accomplishments of these two men who started in the early 1900s designing yachts and fishing boats, as well as designing and building for the Coast Guard and Navy during World War II.

Visit “Memsahib’s Story “ to see the previous owner's blog of her life since the mid 70’s until 2014. Owners of this unique vessel have documented many of the special touches applied throughout her life, and she is looking for her next caretaker.

She is now moored on the south coast of Puerto Rico in Bahia de Patillas.
