We have been very pleased with its performance. It has never peeled or cracked and still looks great. I will say that it has worn or been scraped off in spots but even so has not peeled. It looks really like the original coating unless you look very closely and know it is there. To find the leaks, we use a spray bottle with water and some dish soap. Fill the tubes and spray the soap mixture. It will make bubbles where the holes are. We purchased sealant for the inside of the tubes but have never used it. We are working on the dinghy today and may try to put the inside sealant into one of the tubes. Thanks for reading and for your post! We are thinking of applying another coat of paint and need to replace a fill but otherwise, it's added years to our dinghy! I value Practical Sailor's advice and was thankful I found it before we made a huge mistake. Just be sure to patch all of the leaks first. Check out my post titled Dinghy Repair - Check from February 5, 2013. I researched that as well...

Good luck on your dinghy project! We are getting ready to buy a used hypalon dinghy that is about 11 years old and has a leak in it. We can't afford a new one, and used ones are hard to find here. We want this dink to last at least for a few years before we have to invest in a newer one. I've heard that some people have had a hypalon dinghy for over 20 years and he ended up just giving it to a friend. The friend fixed it up and it's going as strong as ever. This product you mention sounds pretty good to me. We may have to check on Amazon to get some of this. Thanks for the tips. And we will take your advice and do it in October! ;)

Diane and Paul Sullivan
S/V Sea Casa
Kemah, TX

Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17225638017307835241noreply@blogger.com
