I find myself surprised at how thought provoking Cruising life is, and how long it takes for those thought processes to let go their hold. Thanks for your comment and I hope we eventually meet up somewhere!Tammy Swarthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06779759048984133676noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5377250274517734866.post-70487507491308667462015-05-18T07:48:53.523-04:002015-05-18T07:48:53.523-04:00I grew up in South America and had an early educat...I grew up in South America and had an early education on how most of the world outside the U.S. lives. For years after that as an adult back in the States the feeling haunted me that I was missing something in my consumerist life. Now approaching 60, I've found the missing equation after cruising for two years: authenticity. In the States it seems our constant search for the latest best product is in reality only a search for identity and belonging. We're attempting to replace with things the only thing that can satisfy: relationships, community, involvement with nature, an appreciation of history and its contribution to the piece of life in which we find ourselves. We are, without question, a society who has lost its way and I'm very happy to have found the cruising community and the forays into many cultures that accompany it.

Deb
SV Kintala
svkintala@gmail.com
Debhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01093436662653044390noreply@blogger.com
